Benefits Specialist

General Summary

A benefits specialist is a person who manages employee benefit plans such as medical, dental, savings, retirement and pension plans.  As a benefits specialist, you will help meet employers' need to lower turnover rates while managing cost effectiveness.

Job Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

 

  • Assists with the designing, evaluating and modifying of benefits policies to ensure that programs are current, competitive and in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Administers corporate benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life, and disability
  • Responds to benefit inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
  • Reviews and reconciles benefit carrier bills to ensure accuracy and timely payment
  • Prepares and provides benefit summary and detailed reports for executive management, brokers, and benefit carriers
  • Updates and ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in payroll with accurate eligibility, enrollment, and deduction information
  • Coordinates open enrollment period by preparing materials and conducting enrollment meetings
  • Reviews employee benefit programs.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as required
  • Job Requirements:

    :* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources.

    * A minimum of 1-3 years experience in a similar field.

    * Knowledge of MS Office Applications.

    * Fluent in written and spoken English.

    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
