General Summary
A benefits specialist is a person who manages employee benefit plans such as medical, dental, savings, retirement and pension plans. As a benefits specialist, you will help meet employers' need to lower turnover rates while managing cost effectiveness.
Job Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
Assists with the designing, evaluating and modifying of benefits policies to ensure that programs are current, competitive and in compliance with legal requirements.
Administers corporate benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life, and disability
Responds to benefit inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
Reviews and reconciles benefit carrier bills to ensure accuracy and timely payment
Prepares and provides benefit summary and detailed reports for executive management, brokers, and benefit carriers
Updates and ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in payroll with accurate eligibility, enrollment, and deduction information
Coordinates open enrollment period by preparing materials and conducting enrollment meetings
Reviews employee benefit programs.
Performs other related duties and tasks as required Job Requirements:
:* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources.
* A minimum of 1-3 years experience in a similar field.
* Knowledge of MS Office Applications.
* Fluent in written and spoken English.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
