Eva Pharma aims to improve people’s lives not only through its health care products, but also by engaging in social initiatives that positively impact the lives of underserved communities around us.  Through our social initiatives, we are improving access to health-care, raising awareness about proper health practices and serving children in need.

Our community initiatives consist of, but are not limited to the following:

Access to Health Care

-  Blood Donation Drive

In response to limited availability of donor blood, Armanious Group (Holding Group of Eva Pharma) held a blood donation drive amongst its employees. The donation process was preceded by a medical examination to insure that employees were eligible to donate blood. A total of 260 sacks of blood were donated to the National Cancer Institute and the Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357, providing immediate care to cancer patients. 

-  Emergency Health Care

Following the Aswan flood, Eva Pharma donated 250,000 units of medicine and a team of doctors to provide emergency health care to the victims. Similarly to the Egyptian Bank providing food, Eva Pharma provides medicine.

-  Therapeutic Convoy "Medical Caravan in Magool"

Rural areas often lack the most basic of medical services. In order to tackle this problem, Eva Pharma initiated "The Medical Caravan in Magool". This medical caravan consisted of physicians, Eva Pharma employees and members from the Future Generation Foundation, all of whom volunteered their time to provide basic medical examinations. Medical services that were provided include: basic medical examinations, lab analysis for hepatitis B & C and various free drug prescriptions. Thanks to the Medical Caravan, more than 600 community members received basic medical services.

Children in Need

- Orphan Day Celebration by EVA Association for Social Services

Keeping its role towards the Egyptian Community, EVA Association for Social services celebrated the World orphan day with more than 350 orphaned kids from different orphanages, dedicating unforgettable day for them on Friday 15/4/2011 at El Azhar Park. Stuff members, and their families has contributed to the success of that day and brought love and joy to the orphaned children's hearts which emphasize the association main purpose. Kids enjoyed the most loving shows and games to their heart; the clown, face-painting, magic shows, DJ ….etc

Being a part of the Egyptian society, the association tended to create a spirit of allegiance in Kids towards their country by painting their faces with the Egyptian flag and distributing on them colored cards in red, white and black.

-  Annual Orphan Day Celebration

Eva Pharma celebrated World Orphan Day on April 16th 2010 at the Azhar Park with an annual celebration for children from local orphanages, staff members and their families. Kids were able to enjoy a festive atmosphere with clowns, a magic show, face-painting and a DJ. 200 kids between the ages of 4 and 16 from 4 different orphanages attended the day’s festivities, and were able to enjoy being a part of a larger community for a change.

-  El Sondos Orphanage

Eva Pharma has paid several visits to El Sondos orphanage for children with special needs in Heliopolis to provide them with a day of fun and entertainment. In addition to providing the children with some much needed love and a distraction from their daily routine, Eva Pharma donated clothes, food, sweets and medicine to the orphanage. Based on the success of our visits to date, we hope to be able to provide more structural support to El Sondos in the future.

Health Campaigns

-   Swine Flu Awareness Campaign 

Eva Pharma and the Future Generation Foundation hosted a public awareness campaign on the H1N1 virus, informing the general public on simple precautions to implement against infection. Our aim was to eliminate as much of the panic amongst the general public as possible, by disseminating scientific facts about the virus and providing simple methods to prevent infection. Eva Pharma reached out to over 35,000 people across Cairo, Alexandria and Asyut, providing them with clear information on how to deal with this epidemic in their lives. We achieved. We achieved this by reaching out in the following ways:

-          Distributing 14000 face masks and 14000 ‘H1N1 Flu Awareness’ flyers at railway stations; 8000 face masks & flyers at the Cairo railway station, Ramses    metro station and Assuit railway station

-          Distributing 8000 face masks & flyers in Cairo & Alexandria international airports.

-          Covering more than 8 public and private schools, Cairo University and the University of Science & Technology

-          Participating in the Sports Festival  ‘Ahsehbasah’, reaching out to over 10,000 citizens

-          Spreading awareness to 110,000 citizens face to face in hospitals and agencies

-          Creating and distributing a medical brochure for pilgrims going on Hajj and Omra, which was made available at Cairo International Airport, in clinics and community pharmacies. The brochure provides advice on how to prevent infection with the virus, a map for the pilgrims, and a list of medicines recommended for pilgrims during the Hajj and Omra.

 

-  Diabetes awareness campaign

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, Eva Pharma in cooperation with Cairo University launched a 'Diabetes Awareness Campaign' in order to raise awareness about the causes and symptoms of diabetes. For a period of 2 weeks, information on diabetes and free diagnostic examinations were offered in different pharmacies and public clubs throughout Cairo, successfully reaching 4000 people.

-  Giza Pharmacists Awareness Campaign

In accordance with our commitment to help spread pharmaceutical & medical awareness, Eva Pharma actively participated in a gathering among pharmacists, government officials and stakeholders, hosted by the First Lady, Suzan Mubarak in light of the “Giza Pharmacists Awareness Campaign”. Topics discussed included chronic hepatitis, the role of hepatic drugs in disease management, amongst others.

-  training courses 

In accordance with our commitment to help spread pharmaceutical & medical awareness, Eva Pharma actively participated in a gathering among pharmacists, government officials and stakeholders, hosted by the First Lady, Suzan Mubarak in light of the “Giza Pharmacists Awareness Campaign”. Topics discussed included chronic hepatitis, the role of hepatic drugs in disease management, amongst others.

-   chronic hepatitis screening campaign

In partnership with the Future Generation Foundation, Eva Pharma has launched a “Chronic Hepatitis Screening Campaign”. Through this campaign, a reputable medical laboratory collects samples and is providing free-of cost hepatitis screening to underserved community members. Experienced physicians are providing invaluable medical advice free of charge, for whoever needs it.

Medical Convoys

- Medical Convoy to Manfalout village Januray 24, 2011

In collaboration with Ministry of Health and the Director of Medical Affairs of Assiut as well as the invitation of the Director of Manfalout Central Hospital, Eva Pharma has organized a Medical Convoy in Manfalout village where about 3000 patients has been provided with free examination and treatment,

In addition to the different medical services and medical care which have been supplied for the needy people from medical tests and lab analysis up to simple surgeons operations at Manfalout Hospital

Eva Pharma is aware of its commitment towards the needy people, providing them with all their medical needs, thus it has organized, with the cooperation of Eva association for Social services, its third medical convoy in Saft El Laban, El Minia.

The Convoy was well organized thanks to the cooperation and efforts of Saft El Laban people and its Assembly legitimacy. On that day 2700 patients have been examined and provided with free drug prescription.

- Medical Convoy in Eva pharma pyramids facility march 18, 2011

Having positive impact on the Egyptian society and improving the health of everyone in it  is one of the essential roles which spurs on EVA Pharma's thinking. Thus EVA Pharma organized Medical convoy in its Facility to provide medical services to people in Kafr El Gabal and the surrounding villages and to EVA Pharma and EVA Cosmetics employees.

Medical services included; examinations to over than 1000 patients, free Diabetic and Hepatic lab. analysis and necessary drug prescriptions in different specialties.

Efforts of EVA Pharma in the Medical Convoy received a lot of appreciation from the people in those villages as it is the second convoy in less than a month which gave them the impression that it is a monthly charity hospital where they should go to every month.

- The second Medical Convoy to Saft El Laban April 9, 2011

In collaboration with EVA association for Social services, Eva Pharma has sent its second Medical Convoy to Saft El Laban village.15 Physicians in different specialties has examined over than 1400 patient who are provided with free examinations, Hepatic lab, analysis, and drug prescriptions.

The Mosque, The Church and some of the village citizens have given their hands to help in the Medical services of the Convoy.

- The third Medical Convoy to Saft El Laban May 21, 2011
